Rural excellence centres for basic sciences and mathematics are not new. Governments and private players have their own experiences to create these infrastructure. One interesting example is the technological museums that spread all around India. Though they are stationed at the big cities like Kolkata and Bangalore, several satellite centres were implemented in rural India as well.
At Cheenta Math Circle experiment, we imagine a different type of space for excellence in rural India. We wish to do the following things:
- Incubate product ideas and innovation from the school level
- Train in olympiad calibre problem sets
- Have hands-on experience in basic science labs, arduino, simulated experiments, data driven experiments.
- Connect urban expertise with rural population with remote communication technology.
In 2024, we are planning to establish the first centre for excellence in the Sundarbans area of West Bengal.
